Giant Shriner Statue, Louisville, KY
The statue stands in front of the Ronald McDonald House,
Home of the Innocents in Louisville, KY. He holds a child in one arm and his
crutch in the other; wearing his Shriner Fez he represents the fight for the physically
challenged and needy children of Louisville.
Inspired by a 1970 photo of Shriner Albert Hort. The sculpture was designed by Randy Dieter and
represents the Shriner's Hospitals for Children. The Temple on S. 2nd St. still
features a giant
fez over the entrance.
