Colonel Sanders Wax Figure, Why Lou, Louisville, KY

Colonel Sanders Wax Figure, Why Lou Two, Louisville, KY

Actually there are two wax figures of Colonel Harland Sanders in Louisville, one at the visitor center downtown and the other at WHY Lou Two (recently featured in Roadside America). Why Lou Two version of the wax Colonel Sanders is originally from Wondering Woods in Cave City, KY. Why Lou Two boasts that their Colonel is sporting one of Harland’s actual suits and ties by his wife Claudia. This sit down version honors one of the most recognizable men in fast food/advertising history and a chicken pioneer and salesman. Like the one at the visitor’s center, the Colonel holds a “Bucket” of KFC Chicken.
Louisville offers several opportunities to pay tribute to the Colonel, his grave site, the Louisville Visitor’s Wax Statue, and of course you can stop by the original KFC homestead and Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, KY, between Lexington and Louisville.Next trip to Louisville I am hoping to meet up with Will Russell, owner of Why Louisville and try to get my picture taken with former Mayor of Lawrenceburg, KY, Bob Thompson the spittin' image of Col. Harland Sanders.
