Cardboard Boat Museum and Race Site, New Richmond, OH
Unfortunately for me, the day I came through, New Richmond the museum was closed and I had to resort to plan B, scurrying around the exterior of an old gas station taking pictures through the windows. The place intrigue me enough that I will need to make a pilgrimage back to New Richmond during their Annual River Days. Historic New Richmond and the Cardboard Boat Museum sit on the Ohio River, about 22 miles from Cincinnati and are host to an annual cardboard boat race and regatta. The town was founded by Jacob Light who traveled by flatboat to New Richmond from L International Cardboard Boat Regatta and managed by one of the nations most prolific team builder and racer of exotic and unusual boats -Team Lemon.
