National Debt Clock, New York, NY

National Debt Clock, New York, NY

At the corner of  6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) and 44th Street near Times Square and the Fashion District. This constant reminder of our country's national debt and the portion you and your family owe hangs on the south-side of the 44th Street. As you can see this was taken a while ago as our national debt now approaches the $17 Billion range. The clock was established by a NY real estate developer in 1998 with this new digital version put in place in 2004 and moved to this location from Times Square. According to Roadside America the clock went dark from Sept. 2000 to July of 2002 because the debt went down, apparently this clock can only rack up debt not eliminate it.
