Tribute to Peter Pan and Mary Martin, Weatherford, TX
The Peter Pan statue is located at the Weatherford Public Library, a bronze likeness of actress Mary Martin as Peter Pan, a famous role on Broadway. Sculpted by Ronald Thomason and cast by Metz Castleberry, the statue was dedicated on July 4, 1976.
The library contains an exhibit containing original music scores, costumes, and other memorabilia on Ms. Martin. Mary Martin is the mother of Larry Hagman, J.R. Ewing in “Dallas” and Major Tony Nelson in “I Dream of Jeannie.” His statue is at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in southwest Weatherford, TX.
