B29s Mid Air Collision, Weatherford, TX
Two B-29 bombers collided in mid-air over this spot on August 17, 1945. Only two crew members parachuted to safety; 18 others were killed. Next to the Mary Martin (as Peter Pan) statue, the memorial marker is at the Weatherford Public Library.
