WHY Lou, Oddities and Colonel Sanders, Louisville, KY

WHY Louisville, WHYLOU and WHY LOU TWO, Souvenirs and Curiosities Shop, Louisville, KY

WHY Louisville has two locations in the Louisville area on Bardstown Street (Highlands Store) and on E. Market Street (Nulu Store). Once again found this unique store thanks to my Roadside America App, that recently added WHY Louisville to it due to its life like Wax Colonel Sanders statue (owners were surprised to find that their Colonel was in one of Harland Sanders original suits) The Highland Store has a wax Walt Disney and a Beerwolf . While at the NULU store I got a chance to spin the Wonder Wheel (with local legend and folk singer Bonnie "Prince" Billy's flip flop to indicate what you win a prize from the cabinet below the wheel, and see my everychanging image (in or outside of) the fun house mirror from Fontaine Ferry (an amusement park in Louisville, Kentucky from 1905 to 1969.The store specialize in locally designed shirts and accessories, art prints, books, cards, unique gifts and general curiosities. But it really draws you in with its Giant Chattering Teeth Chair; Pee Wee's Big Adventure Animatronic Clown, 25 cent pony rides and free popcorn.. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to meet Will Russell, co-founder of Lebowski Fest and owner of WHY Louisville.
Don's miss the Fiji Merman, The Mr T Quaker Oats Cereal Box,

Eddie Munster with Wolfie Portrait, and Will’s extensive Pee Wee Herman collectibles including Pee Wee and his Bike Painting,  a Replica of Clocky , a crying Bride of Frankenstein,  original poster from the Lebowski Fest, a mounted  Jack-a-lope,  and a ventriloquist Pee Wee Herman doll.  Great stop in Louisvillle, highly recommended.
