Giant Golden Statue of David, Louisville, KY

A golden replica of Michelangelo's David sits in front of the 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, KY. The 30-foot-tall statue by conceptual artist Serkan Ozkaya. Ozkaya created “David” for the 9th International Istanbul Biennial in 2005. The first statue collapsed but the artist restored it and created two copies of the original statue including this one that is now standing in Louisville.
The sculpture is on the corner of 7th and Main Streets.
The sculpture arrived and traveled through New York City on a  trailer, passing the Lincoln Center before arriving to Louisville.
