World's Largest Horseshoe Crab, Blanchester, OH
Next to the Freedom Baptist Church and adjacent to the Scrubbing Bubbles Car Wash and Laundromat is the World's Largest Horseshoe Crab "Crabby". Apparently it was first intended for a museum in Baltimore this 28 feet wide and 68 feet long crab is a must see just northeast of Cincinnati. According to Roadside America the HS Crab was part of a publicity stunt by Gene Sullivan jumped over it in his "Jump for Jesus" and then entered a flaming replica of the gates of hell. I walked around this mammoth crustacean reading bible verses that surround him on a stone path. Most recently the Blanchester Horse Shoe Crab made its debut in the movie Twilight - Eclipse as a quilt block on Bella's Bed (made from T shirts sold by the church).
