Singing Grates, Times Square, New York, NY
Just wondering how many of my friends have visited or frequently visit Times Square and have not noticed the famous "Singing Grates" Hundreds of people stand on them daily trying to spot themselves in the Jumbo Screen in Times Square. This piece of audio art was created by Max Neuhaus and installed in 1992. If you walk over this triangular grating you will hear a low hum that some have describe the long drawn out sound of a gong. Next time you are at the "Crossroads of the World" Stop and Listen.
